I do a lot of implementation: I’m often deep in the editor, working on setting up the logic that makes gameplay go - where does the player go, what do they do, how do they do it, and how does the game reward them for it. I’m a senior game designer, meaning that I work on both content (like missions, character behaviors, and special events) and systems (such as creatures, powers, and rewards). So I see a few things possibly going on at the end:ġ) We cooperate with the Krenim to build the Weapon Ship.just for the Krenim to eventually use it against us.Ģ) We start work on the Weapon Ship with the Krenim, just for the Krenim to study the "Year of Hell" timeline further and discover the alliance that took down Annorax as the Nahydron (sp?), the Mawasi (sp?).and Voyager. What’s your role at Star Trek Online? What’s your day-to-day? Hopefully Tim Russ has a bit of a role in the next FE, scouring Voyager's databanks based on the slight mention of "Krenim" from his past. ![]() And if that information on the Krenim from "Before and After" ever made it into Voyager's memory banks, now's the time to retrieve it and use it. They fired on any ship violating their borders.īut they don't know that, unless Tuvok gets involved. They were arrogant and cocky, unwilling to be diplomatic. We know the Krenim Imperium was at its dominance when they had ships equipped with Chroniton-based weapons that were slightly out of phase with normal time. I think the "Weapon Ship" schematic is either a red herring or a setup to question the Krenim's eventual plans. In the comments let me know your thoughts on this episode and some of the ideas I put forth in this blog. So is this the weapon that will end the war? If it is, can the story be dragged out long enough? We already know the Iconians can't travel through time. Soon we will have a temporal weapon which we can use against the Iconians. The last thing I have to bring up is my constant fear that Cryptic is rushing through the Iconian War. It also begs the questions who is "the Other", how many Iconians are there, and what's their next plan? I hope I'm not the only one who found this exciting. ![]() Now I need to skip ahead to the part when the Iconians arrive and have their conference. Aron Eisenberg reprising his role as Nog was definitely a real treat! I'm glad to see Cryptic using Star Trek canon to help tell their own stories. It's always funny to see the Ferengi fear the Grand Nagus. I really enjoyed when Nog came in with the staff and used his father's power as Grand Nagus to make things go his way. If you haven't played "Time in a Bottle" yet, then you may not want to read more. Just a heads up before continuing, this blog does contain spoilers. So does all this fun and intrigue really carry over to the story? Personally, I feel that the Ferengi are one of the more interesting species in Star Trek, along with the Klingon of course. ![]() The fact that it revolves around the Ferengi makes it even better. "Time in a Bottle" is a rather intriguing title for an episode. Specializations and Professions, Oh My!.
